國小的時候，我就聽過這首歌了。
那時的我不懂歌詞的意思，
我只知道，主唱者的歌聲、歌的旋律，那種帶著哀傷、卻又有種樂觀的感覺
淡淡的，卻吸引我。
學了英文後，再仔細聆聽這首歌，更有感覺。
這首歌原作者是法國的民歌手傑克斯布瑞爾（Jacques Brel），
原名" Le moribond "，意思是「臨終的人」。
一九六一年，傑克斯布瑞爾發現自己罹患了癌症，因而寫下這首歌，獻給他的父親、摯友和妻子。
經由也是歌手的美國朋友洛徳麥昆（Rod MaKuen）翻成英文，才流傳到美國。
而美國也有不少人演唱這首歌曲，我聽過的版本中，最愛的是Terry Jacks的版本
雖然歌詞帶有悲傷，但伴隨著稍稍輕快的節拍、簡單的伴奏、乾淨的歌聲，
將原作的思念與鼓勵詮釋的很棒。
而Westlife版本的雖然也不錯，可是就是少了點味道(我覺得啦)
就是沒辦法感動我，也許是他們唱歌的風格不適合這首歌吧^^"
